Department, trattic figures. City Manager Quinlan presented his report to the City Council and requested action troll them regarding appropriation for inoreased patrol hours. It was moved by Counc. Rogers, seconded by Couno. Sparks and passed unanim,uSly to approve an increase in trattio patrol hours and appropriation of $44,720. Counoil referred the item to the City Manager and requested a report back to them betore implementation. 3. Treasurer's and Budget Status Report, January, 1985. Director of Finance Snyder presented his report to the City Council. Couno. Gatto praised the readability of the report. Director of Public Works Viskovich commented on the updates tor the Solid Waste Management Plan for Santa Clara Valley. John Vidovioh add additional capital costs. stated to the Council that he ôIOuld like to residential non-senior units to offset Iola Hendrickson questioned whether the senior housing would be a below market rate prices. She went on to state that if not, they would not be affordable to IIIOst seniors on a tixed inc~ and that she telt using the term senior housing inferred below market rate housing. Council discussion ensued regarding the aftord&bility ',f the proposed senior housing compared with current market value. City Clerk Cornelius stated to the Council that the first round ot bidding had ended and that the high bidder was Richard C. Johnson with a bid of $111,000. and the 2nd hiShest bid was rro. Nick Szabo stated that he was speaking to the Council not as a Coam1ssioner but as a concerned oitizen. He went 011 to state his conoerns regarding the lack of residential versus the abundanoe ot oftice space in the city and cited a future houseing/Jobs imbalance.
