Director of Public Works Viskovich reviewed the Transportation Element of
the General Plan with Council.
RECESS: 8:55-9:20 p.m.
~urice O'Shea addressed Council regarding traffic pat~'in relation-
ship to jobs outside of Cupertino. He discussed with Cowcil street im-
provements done by various other cities. He proposed that Itlzhway 85 be
cOmþleted as a thoroughfare to merge with other cities' maj~r ~~ads.
Barbara Koppell addressed Cauncil regarding a traffic survey she had done.
She was in favor of Highway 85 being completed along with a greenbelt
area.
Mr. Chuck Cantoni of Cupertino informed Council that he had processed the
data collected in the survey.
Mr. Alf Kodine requested that Council takp no action regarding Highway 85
for a year or two and expressed support for the proposed De Anza Boulevard
underpass.
Juanita McLaren, Cupertino Chamber of Commerce, expressed primary concern
for the safety of residents of Cupertino.
Mr. Robert Meyers, 21324 Dexter Drive, expressed his belief that Highway
85 was needed at least to Highway 9. He expressed support fo. a four Ian
road with major intersections.
Frank Mulkern, Cupertino Chamber of Commerce, spoke in support ~f total
completion of Highway 85 stating that his second choice would be a four
lane highway to De Anza Boulevard.
Mr. Paul Sonnenblick, Upland Way, Cupertino, addressed Council regarding
methodology used to de~ide the kind of roadway and/or development.
