City Manager's Report
Planning Coaaiss1on Minutes - It was moved by Counc. Plungy, seconded by
Counc. Sparks to continue the Planning Commission minutes in their present
format if it can be done st the cost of $275 per meeting. Mayor Sparks
vitr.drew his second; the motion died for lsck of second.
Mayor Sparks appointed Cour.cilllembers Johnson and Gatto to meet with the
Director of Planning to prepare a recommendation with regard to the Plan-
ning Commission gecretary. They will ascertain what the Council needs in
the way of Planning Commission information for items on the agenda.
Mail Ballot Election Update - By consensus, Council decided not to pursue
the mail in ballot election should one be called regarding the referendum.
Central Fire Protection District Correspondence - It was moved by Counc.
Roge~s, seconded by Counc. Gatto and passed unanimously to request that
the Central Fire Protection District include a Councilmember in the de-
cision making process of a possible new fire station in the ~even Springs
area.
Fire Marshal's Service - It was moved by Coune. Gatto~ seconded by Coune.
Rogers and passed unanimously to approve the concept of cities bearing
some of the cost of Fire Ma.shal service.

Director of Planning anú Development Sisk requested that at the adjourn-
ment of Coun=il meeting, the Council convene as a Building Code Appeals
Board to look at a new material that has been requested for use at
the Park Plaza Development.

R. Childress, 22025 Regnart Road, representing the Traffic Subcommittee
of the Citizens Goals Committee, addressed Council requesting an
independent party to validate or disprove previous traffic data. He
felt that the sum of approxiftBtely $10-15,000 would enable the committee
to hire a consultant for approximately 200 hours.

KINUTES OF THE JUNE 15, 1981 CITY COUNCIL HEETING
It was IIOved by C£.unc. Gatto, seconded by Counc. Rogers and passed unan-
imously to authorize expenditure of approxt.ately $15,000 for a traffic
consultant as requested by the Goals Committee to initially provide veri-
fication of data. This vi11 be scheduled for the July 6 tteeting and it
will then be deterained vhether the consultant will work parallel with
the staff or another way.
City Manager's Report
Rat Bait Program - It vas moved by Counc. Plungy, seconded by CoIOC.
Sparks and passed unanillously to approve cODtinuation of the present
level of the City's rat bait program.
City Clerk's Report - It was moved by Counc. Gatto, seconded hy Counc.
Rogers and passed unanimously to cancel the first meeting in August
vhich would have been held on August 3, 1981.
Legislative Review Committee - It vas moved by Counc. Sparks, seconded
by Counc. Plungy and passed unanimously to take the following action
regarding pending legislation:
Support AS 1361 (Use of Radar on Local Streets), AS 1795 (Eliminate
Publishing of Names of Precinct Workers) and AS 1852 (Charge Actual
Duplicating Cost for Campaign Statements).
Council took no action on AS 2099 (Density Bonus of Low and Koderate Inca
Bousing) and requested the Clerk's Office to obtain a copy of the bill.
Council vent on record as opposing a draft resolution proposed for presen
tation by the Public Safety Committee of the League of CalifolLda Cities
as prepared by the City Clerk of Belmont. Counc. Rogers will relay this
opposition to that Public Safety Committee.
It was moved by Counc. Rogerb, seconded by Counc. G_tto and passed unan-
