tree. He expreaøed concern regarding what was happening to

Staff was directed to detennine if. the tree could be saved
and if it can to make sure that it is. TtIe City Attorney
was directed to _ if any City ordinances had ~
violated and if so, to prosecute.
Nancy Hertert, San Juan Road, suggested the City have a
tree expert available before such building occurs.
The City Manager stated that the intrusion of dltches
during construction periods may need to l..! reviewed better.
Council suggested that staff review the present ordinance
and enlarge the area of protection for trees if necessary.
Staff was also directed to set up a procedure for
monitoring thiL. The City Attorney will come back to
Council with a report.

It was moved by Counc. Rogers, seconded by Counc. Johnson
and passed unanlmously that the Mayor aem a letter of
inquiry to the school district regarding the nature and
purpose of the non-profit foundation being formed.
Staff was directed to identify itans that need to be
publicized and study procedures regarding dissemination of
information. Further, e study should be done to determine
if the City needs a part tùne public information officer.
Council requested that the CUpertino Scene include a
calendar page.
