Staff is to review the costs and present program to Council at no specified date, ~enditure of Surplus Funds Staff was requested to create a Capital Improvement Program Fund and to transfer earnings from investments from General Fund to be passed to the Capital Improvement Funds based upon the amount of money in the Capital Improvement Fund for capital improvements. Monies would continue to be co-mingle¿ for the advantage of most gain from investment earnings. Community Service Office Role Council believes that staff should proceed with no set time towards transferring some Jervices now provided by the Sheriff's office to the Community Service Office role as long as these were more cost effective and we made sure that the service would continue to be performed at the same level. Council thought we should try for the 1984-85 fiscal year to employ these changes. Redevelopment in Monta Vista The Mayor is to talk to representatives of the Monta Vista uea to determine inten·st. if any. for such action. Civic Center A. Diagonal in Route 85 Corridor After considerable discussion, the Council decided that we should not consider the diagonal further hut concentrate on building an additional l~ne on De Anza Boulevard as soon as possible in that the expenditure for a diagonal in the 85 corridor could very possibly be counter-productive to early 85 road~y development. Statf was requested to report back to Council at the February 6 meeting as to the status of the E.I.R. on t~e closure of Stelling and the diaganal construction. Staff also was requeJted to work with the college to get the proposed additional access from Stevens Creek Boulevard into campus under way. þ Councilmember Reed Sparks had to leave at 6:00 p.m. and was not available for discussions on the Public Review Process, Redevelopment in ~onta Vista, Dissemination of Public Infor- mation, Roadway ~edian Maiutehance.
