The community room is always booked and it's not really fair the to the Children's Librarians if we are always using their space. Thank you.” “Making sure there is enough space for more students, and ways for more groups to meet at the library.” The information contained herein is subject to change without notice.14 2017 Work Plan Update –Patron Comments Comments in Support of the Library, Its Services, and Its Staff: “I think that the Cupertino Library is a fantastic area, and even if it might get crowded, I still love to be there.” “I like being able to speak to a librarian at the service desk and reference desk.” “Love our local Cupertino Library, keep it up!” “Overall my experience as a library patron is very positive. The staff is always helpful when asked, and for the most part very friendly. The facilities are clean and well organized. Even the computers are given a cleaning on a regular basis by some school age assistants I notice, something I appreciate. The book, audio CD, and DVD selections are top notch. Requested items from other libraries are almost always promptly delivered and announced via automated telephone message. Sometimes I even recommend a selection be acquired by the library, and often it is. Congratulations to the library staff for doing a good job for the community….” The information contained herein is subject to change without notice.15 The Library: •Is committed to a positive patron experience •Respects the individual and provides quality services in a non-judgmental way •Promotes the love of books and the importance of reading •Ensures equal and open access to one relevant, diverse, and substantial collection for the entire community •Fosters life-long learning, promotes cultural enrichment, and supports education •Recognizes and respects staff as valuable and essential to quality library services today and into the future •Welcomes volunteers and appreciates their contributions of time and talent •Ensures that physical spaces are welcoming, safe, clean, and accessible •Is committed to intellectual freedom and the privacy rights of all patrons Core Values of the Santa Clara County Library District Continuing Themes The information contained herein is subject to change without notice.17 •Need for a Program Room to support the scale of participation •Making progress in improved coordination for Community Hall scheduling •Parking, parking, parking; popularity brings cars, cars, cars to the City Hall/Cupertino Library/playing fields complex •4 minute ‘book drop-off only’ parking / Staff parking enforcement Continuing Themes [No Change from 2016]
