Moved by Councilman Saich that the City Engineer be instructed to receive proposals ror (X) number or reet or Storm Drainage at the Northwest Corner or Rodrigues Avenue and Highway 9 and report to the City Council ror authorization to commence work; Seconded by Councilman Benetti. Panning Commission Resolution No. 20. (Denial). Moved by Councilman Saich that the Hearing be closed; Seconded by Councilman Benetti. Also that they would be willing to accept commercial zoning only as rar south as Craft Drive. Moved by Councilman Benetti that the Appeal be denied; Seconded by Councilman Jewett. The soil test report was considered and the City Engineer recom- mended approval of the tentative map subject to the cost of dry wells being borne by the subdivider in addition to the off tract storm drain charge. Moved by Councilman Saich that the tentative subdivision map of E. J. X FINANCIAL REPORT AND RECOMMENDATION RE PROPOSED STORM DRAIN AND BOUNDARY CONTRACT, SAN JOSE AND CUPERTINO. Rescheduled for the October 3rd Agenda. XI MISCELLANEOUS A. Moved by Councilman Benetti that Hal Johnson, 10511 Larry Way, Cupertino, be appointed to replace Eugene Young, re- signed Recreation Committee Member; Seconded by Councilman Saich. A Joint meeting of the City Council and Cupertino Sanitary Board is scheduled for October 5th at 9:00 P.M., meeting place of the Sanitary Board. The following topics of dis- cussion were submitted: Start and growth of the sewer system, Future developement, sewage treatment plant and the bond issue necessary to finance it. C. Moved by Councilman Saich that the Planning Commission Chairman be notified that the City Council will be happy to accept a written report from the Planning Commission, allowing the Chairman to mail or deliver said report rather than read it in person; Seconded by Councilman Lazaneo. October 15th, 9:00 A.M., is scheduled for interviewing to find a replacement for the vacancy on the Planning Commission. The local papers will cæry the announcement and letters of application will be accepted until 5:00 P.M., October lOth by the City Clerk. An interview schedule, names and times will be compiled October 14th. E. Moved by Councnman Benetti that the minute order be rescinded which authorized 10 reservations, expenses paid, to the Los Angeles Conference of the League of California Cl ties - October 23rd to 26th, and in place thereof the City send ~" the Mayor and City Manager at City Expense with other coun- cilmen who wish to attend to pay their own expenses; Sec- onded by Councilman Lazaneo. 173 AYES: Councilmen: NAYS: Councilmen: ABSENT: Councilmen: MOTION DEFEATED: Benetti, Lazaneo Jewett, Pelosi, Saich None 3-2 F.
