Subject: 40 units of extremely low‐income housing for people with developmental disabilities
Dear Councilmember Chang,
I have reviewed the draft minutes for the study session on the Vallco Specific Plan. I was
very concerned that the minutes did not include the direction given by several council
members to staff specifically to study including 40 units of extremely low-income housing
for people with developmental disabilities in the developer agreement.
Unless the City Council keeps this very specific need on the table, it will likely fall through
the cracks as we have seen, so often, in our many years of advocacy. We are not asking for
the whole pie, just a tiny slice of it.
Would you please pull the minutes from the consent agenda at the June 19th City Council
meeting so that the minutes can be amended to reflect the direction given to staff concerning
this issue?
Sincerely,
Janet Van Zoeren
