REVIEW OF MINUTES- Accepted August 25, 2016 ROLL CALL City Council: Savita Vaidhyanathan City Staff: Tom Walters, Timm Borden, Ken Ericksen, Karen Levy, Jason Bisely, Santa Clara County Fire OES: Joe Guzzardi, Louay Toma, David Flamm Santa Clara County Fire Community Education: Denise Gluhan Sheriff Office: Business Partners: Stuart Chessen Red Cross Commissioners: Citizen Corps Volunteers: Bob Cascone, Al Boleda, Judy Halchin, Skip Stevens ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Red Cross, Stuart Chessen presented new Red Cross Shelter operations proceedures so Cupertino Shelter Operations can now be updated. REPORTS 2. County Fire a. Emergency Management: 1. David Flamm, Accomplished alternate EOC exercise with AlertSCC test. 2017 Operational Area exercise planned, training schedule published 2. Joe Guzzardi, Feb 22 Elected Officials training scheduled, flyer to come out soon, NIMS IS 700 class scheduled for Cupertino employees. 3. Louay Toma, Hazard Mitigation Plan into phase II Plan template for Debris removal and Donations rolling out PIO new hire to create plan for JIC b. Community Education: 1. Captain Denise Gluhan, reported last quarter Cupertino residents, 4 attended the CERT Academy and 11 Personal Emergency Preparedness class, CERT and PEP flyer left for posting, L.I.F.E. product announced for resident’s medical documents, CERT Refresher trainings will be starting in 2017 schedule to be provided Cupertino Disaster Council Page 2 \\CUPE-FS-1\City_Shares\Parks and Recreation Admin\Disaster Council\Minutes\Disaster Council Draft 11.17.16 Draft Minutes.doc L.I.F.E magnet presented with some quantities available and Countywide Marketing to be handled by County Public Health. 3. Citizen Corps Reports a) Ken Ericksen submitted and reviewed attached Citizens Corps report NEW BUSINESS 4. Disaster Council direction discussion led by Karen Levy key points: -Vision of Cupertino/define performance metrics -Involve others with emergency response responsibilities determine plans, expectations, response with ; local businesses, schools etc -PIO and Department Heads to be invited to Disaster Council meetings -Involve Citizen Corps members 5. Disaster Service Worker Volunteer Program, Ken E., new guidelines received and a review is needed and then discuss with the City Attorney. OLD BUSINESS 6. Citizen Corps Training Calendar approved 7.
