Emergency Management: 1. David Flamm, Accomplished alternate EOC exercise with AlertSCC test. 2017 Operational Area exercise planned, training schedule published 2. Joe Guzzardi, Training & Exercise - Awareness training for Cupertino City staff. Elected Officials training (February 22). Essential Emergency Management Concepts class. Cyber TTX - TBA. Mass Care & Shelter Exercise - TBA. Countywide Exercise September 14 & 15; 3-4 hours each day; OA-wide: Resource Ordering, Communications, Shift change, County Alternate EOC involvement. Hosted CSTI Credentialing Program presentation on February 2. Joe Guzzardi will continue City of Cupertino training and exercises and will increase specificity. Louay Toma, Alert-SCC platform change over from Blackboard to Everbridge in the works. Geofenced polygons for refined alerting capability. Working on streamlining the process to contact the SCCO OES Duty Officer. Darryl and Louay - LHMP Phase 3 of development has been completed and is being reviewed by the contractor Tetra Tech. Then an internal review with the cities, followed by public comment period before being sent to CalOES and FEMA for their review. [Currently CalOES has no staff in the position to review them.] Approval by CalOES and FEMA would be pending adoption by City Council/ County BOS. County Plans in progress: Cost Recovery Plan; Debris Removal Plan b. Community Education: Captain Denise Gluhan, Reported the recent numbers of Cupertino residents who took CERT Academy (4) and the PEP training (8) attended) Next CERT in Cupertino June 12 - July 8. CPR - monthly on 2nd Tuesday. Note: the 2017 CERT Refresher Training specifies that individual CERT members are restricted to attending only up to four of the eight classes annually c. Citizen Corps Reports - Written report submitted by Ken Ericksen NEW BUSINESS a. Cupertino employee training update Update from Dave Flamm, SCCO OES/SCCFD, on recent and upcoming trainings for both their Served Cities, and the Op Area. Awareness/ Introductory training: SEMS, ICS, NIMS; 151 staff - 86% after next Tuesday. Additional training upcoming: NRF, ICS Single Resources. Elected Officials Training. Action planning. CSTI Essentials in Emergency Management Concepts - All Hazards. b. Storm update Partially covered in County Fire OEM update above. Roger: Stevens Creek has been realigned and there has been no more overtopping d.t. the increased capacity. Dave Flamm - mitigation projects for future risks - nexus with the LHMP. Conference calls proved helpful and evolved. Participation from the Cities, including Cupertino, noted and appreciated. On-going participation by the Cities in the Cost Recovery activities resulting from the various storm events (January, and February). OLD BUSINESS a. Approval of Citizen Corps Training Calendar The Cupertino Citizen Corps training and activity calendar for the year is attached to the Citizen Corps Report. With updates since the previous DC meeting. Approved by the Disaster Council attendees present. b. Disaster Council direction Tom Walters reminds attendees of the request for comments on the thoughts and direction for the DC to be submitted to him, or Karen, for presentation at the next DC meeting.
