Stelling Cupertino, CA 95014 2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. MINUTES CALL TO ORDER Ken Ericksen called meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. ROLL CALL City Council: Savita Vaidhyanathan, Mayor City Staff: Karen Levy, Roger Lee, Clare Francavilla, Ken Ericksen Santa Clara County Fire OES: Darryl Ray, Joe Guzzardi Santa Clara County Fire Community Education: None Sheriff Office: None Business Partners: None Commissioners: Jerry Tallinger Public Safety Citizen Corps Volunteers: Bob Cascone, Judy Halchin, Al Boleda, Allan Gontang, Jim Oberhofer ORAL COMMUNICATIONS During this portion of the meeting community members may address the Council on any relevant matter. Speakers may be limited to three (3) minutes. In most cases, state law will prohibit the commission from making decisions with respect to matters not previously identified on the agenda. Jim O., requested that the City’s emergency notification system be addressed to make timely notifications and what are the various modes and triggers to get mass notifications to everyone in harm’s way. EOC Communications exercise, results gave us many items that worked and many items to be worked on, planning on participating in the 2018 exercise E. Cupertino Citizen Corps-Jim Oberhofer, Ken Ericksen a. Reports presented for CARES, CERT and MRC and highlighted activities and presented 2018 calendar of activities. NEW BUSINESS a. Roger Lee Public Works, new building assessment project being developed, discussion about information to be collected and FEMA cost recovery requirements b. Clare Francavilla, Cupertino’s new Emergency Services Coordinator introduction, welcome to the Disaster Council c. Savita Vaidhyanathan Mayor, thanked everyone for participating in 2017 and that the new mayor will determine who will be appointed to head up the Disaster Council in 2018.
