Hardship Form - Handicap Access Upgrades
Dear Larry,
In August of this year Cathy Carter ( Carter Design Group) and myself met with you and an
inspector ( Jeff) at Shadow Oaks Apts. to review possible handicap access upgrades for the
proposed Fitness Center remodel. The main path of travel to the Rec Center has a bridge which
makes it very difficult to provide access to the area without substantial infrastructure changes and
significant cost. After discussing several possible scenarios we agreed to provide handicap access
to one downstairs unit near the front of the facility ( unit #110) as follows:
• Provide handicap parking space with all necessary signage and covered parking as the
facility provides covered parking elsewhere.
• Install concrete walkways, ramps, steps and railing to provide code compliant access to
unit # 110. ( plans included)
Sincerely,
Paul Pendley
