They will work with the H-Control as far as other areas of concern,
however. Mr. Loukiano stated that this proposal is for "spec buildings"
and they are gearing for the electronic assembly line type user.
They have found they ~annot make leases in their other developments of
this type with less parking.
The Planning Direct01." ansvered Mayor Jackson that the parking ratio
in Vallco Park has ~= caused any problems. In West Valley Industrial
Park there h s been one instance in which tha parking was inadequate.
Mayor Jackson said it was his feeling that he .' 'uld go along with
Condition 19. He a¿ded that the City is trying 0_') consider transit
for this area.
Counc. Frolich said ~use there are no realistic alternatives in
I Santa Clara County, the limitation of the number of parking spaces is
not going to drlve the people to some other mode of transportation until
, it gets really bad. By the time it gets that bad we are going to have a lot
of other community ~robl..s.
Coonc. Sparks obcerved that, sooner or later, the £FA is going to put
soœe kind of restrictlon on thls.
Counc. Nellis said the ap~licant would still have the opportunity to
debate Condition 19 rec¡uirement after n-Control review, since they only
a3ke recommendations to the City Council. She would like to give the
n-~ontrol the latitude to review this. It has been a practiee for
otuer applicants to reduce parking in order to obtain additional
landscaping.
Counc. Meyers said that the EPA Management is going to require all
manufaclurers to aet along with less parking.
