Moved by Counc. Frolich, seconded by Counc. Meyers to adopt
Resolution No. 3943.
AlonR with the many other reasons he has been stating in support of a
name change, Counc. Frolich said the clumsiness of the present name
and due to the forthcoaing Bicentennial, he was in favor of this 1."esolution.
He hoped that the City of San Jose would go along with this on the basis
of post office services to Some Ssn Jose residents from the Cupertino
Post Of £ice.
Mayor Jackson aareed that it makes all kinds of sense to name it De Anza
Blvd., but he feels ft is duplicating Sunnyvale's parochia! attitude.
He would be willia¡ to ao along with the name change when and if our
neiahborina jurisdictions agree to it. Otherwise, he feels it will lead
to confusion.
Counc. frolich noted that the City of Sunnyvale does not have a great
aany people or buslnesses that would h~ve this as a street add1."ess
whereas Cupertioo does,
COUDC. Nellis said she was willing to ao alona with the name chanae,
and was ready to vote for De Anza Blvd. at this time.
Counc. Keyers would like to change the effective date to January 1, 1976,
In the event this re.olution passes.
