and passed uaaaiaously that Re80lution 3953 be adopted ratifylng

Hr. Rydu also adYtsed the Council that during the fiscal year
and ia accordaace witb previous Council policies expenditures
had beea ..de f~ line it_ ac"ounts to meet varying "ircua-
stances whi"h in SOlIe instances resulted in over expenditures
of ~ appropriations and under expenditure~ in others. He
requested .hat a .taute order be passed specifically authorizlng
a t1."anafer of appropriations between these over and under expendi-
tures for a aore readable financial s.atement.

Mayor Ja<~$Dn then referred to a memorandum from Mr. Quinlan
dated J~ne 2, 1915, in which wcre staff rccommendations fcr a
priority ~f reductions should the Council wish to aake these
reduction,.. These were reviewed item by item and decisions
aade on ~~i<h were to be approved for reJuction and which were
to remain in the budget. Of specific inte1."est to partlcular
prograas, the Council requested that the Ranger Prograa be con-
tlnued at full eaployaeat rather than being reduced to a 50%
level. T.~ere was also added to the budget, $4,000 for a fall
rubbish ,.llection prograa.
A motlon ~as made by Councilman "eyers that the requested ap-
propriat;:~ for the Cupertino Roundup be set at $4,000. Thp
moti~n ¿;<i for lack of a second. It was moved by Councilwoman
Nellis, 5'~"!1dcd by Councilman Frolic ¡ that the Cupertino Round-
up be ¡;nc.:,,~ an $8,000 appropriation and after discussion by the
Council :ce ~Dtion was wlthdrawn.
