Associate Planner Warre~ Terribcrry, of the County of Santa Clara Planning Department sta:eè the draft plan of the County Solid Waste ~bnagement Plan will be in circulation prior to October 24th Now is the time to pro~ide input, either pro or con. SBS says the County must adopt a solid waste plan, and a consensus of all the cities is necessary. He answered Coune. Sparks that at this point nobody knows who is going to pay for lmplementation of the Plan, although there are so:e coamitments of land. According to the Air Quality Board, no kind of incineration will be allowed. Mr. Ed Locke, of Met:alf and Eddy, Palo A!to, urg~d the City Council pay special att~tion to Chapters 2, 13 and 14 of the Report. He stressed the point that there is going to be a con- tinuing need for land fill. The City Manager asked if any thought was given to a transfer stage for Sunnyvale, Los Altos, Los Altos Hl11s and Cupertino. Mr. Lock said transfer stages were considered but ruled out as unsuitable.
