CC 12-06-2018 Item No. 3Grace Schmidt, MMC From: Sent: Gary Latshaw <glatshaw@gmail.com > Thursday, December 06, 2018 3:23 PM To: City Council; Darcy Paul; Steven Scharf; Rod Sinks ; Savita Vaidhyanathan; Cupertino City Manager's Office Subject: Rod Sink's Candidacy for Mayor Please forward this to the newly elected council members. There is no doubt in my mind that Rod should be rotated in as mayor. He has accomplished much for the City by his service at this council , but additionally, and maybe more so , by his participation on many local boards deal ing with climate change, transportation, air quality, acquisition of renewable energy, and participating broadly in our community. Rod's legacy is firmly established in our local history. What will the new board members do? If they are interested in serving our broader community as Rod has, then they must think about what messages their actions tonight and other nights send . Do they want to send a message of vindictiveness and looking for retribution? Or do they want to send a message of cooperation and willingness to deliberate issues. I urge the council to vote Rod as mayor and establish a cooperative atmosphere. ·Gary Fight for Renewable Energies!
