The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.Mo by`Chairman >`Small

Member Youmans moved to amend the minutes of the previous meet-
ing of November 13, 1968 as follows; On page 3, Application
380-HC-68first paragraph:."'°Member'McLaren'moved to'recommend
Application` 380-HC-68 for`, approval' of buildings s-u., ject to +the
12 Standard Conditions. Member Youmans seconded the. motion
and it was passed unanimously."
Another correction to the''minutes, at the bottom'of page—
Condit —ion 14 should- read, 14!) that' there will be no exterior -
lighting' other than .that existing, on the westerly side of '"th'e"`
building and on Scofield Drive." Also, P°Motion was made by
Member McLaren to recommend approval of Application 383-'HC=68
seconded -by Member Youmans and. passed unanimously."
Member McLaren moved that minutes of the meeting of November
13, 1968 be approved as corrected. The motion was seconded by
Member Youmans and passed unanimously..
Applications
A. 324-HC-68: Senor Taco, 10660 So Saratoga -Sunnyvale
Road; req`u.es'tin-g Architectural and Site Committee
approval of the landscaping for the Senor Taco
Restaurant at this address.
Mr. Tom Henderson, Henderson & Associates Civil Engineers, at
10601 S.`Saratoga-'Sunnyvale Road, presented the application,
reviewing the landscaping plans and pointing out that the
planting areas are the same as originally designated.
Member Youmans called attention to the fact that this res-
taurant is located on the main arterial highway entering the

D. Application 382-HC-68: Ad Art, Inc., 1225
N. Fifth Street, San Jose, requesting
Architectural and Site approval for an ex-
ception to Sign Ordinance No. 353, Section
6.042, to allow two ground signs at the Les
Pavillons Center (First Valley Corp.) loca-
ted at 19300 Stevens Creek Boulevard,
Mr. Dave Norman, representing Ad Art, Inc. 122E N. Fifth
Street, San Jose presented this application to the committee.
Member Adams moved to recommend approval of the Les Pavillons
Sign Application 382-HC-68 subject to the 12 Standard Condi-
tions and placement of the sign per the Ordinance No. 353,
Section 5.14 stipulating traffic hazards shall not be created
within 40 foot dimension of the intersection and that the <<i
-
rectory sign also be approved as presented.
Motion was seconded by Chairman Small and passed 4-1 as fol-
lows:
Ayes: Adams, Buellesbach, McLaren, Small
Noes: Youmans
Absent: None
Member Youmans stated for the record that his opposition to
this application was based on lack -of evidence that the ap-
plication qualifies under Section 10.4 of Ordinance No. 353.
E. Application 384-HC-68, Omniprise, Inc., 5885
Bridle Way, San Jose, requesting Architectural
and Site Committee approval to construct a
four-plex on Lot J, LaCresta Income Estates.

This application was presented by Mr. Jim Schilling, 5885 Bridle
Way, San Jose. After considerable discussion of this project
a motion was made by Member McLaren to recommend to the City
Council approval of Application 384-HC-68 as per plot plan and
elevation plan submitted subject to the 12 Standard Conditions
and check list of the Planning Commission. Member Buellesbach
seconded this motion and it was passed unanimously.
Chairman Small informed the applicant that his application would
go before the City Council at its meeting of December 16, 1968.

Unfinished Business
Member Youmans called the committee's attention to the fact
that Mike's Hero House and Montgomery Place Beauty Salon
still had not complied with the committee's request for
completion. Considerable discussion ensued.
Member Youmans moved to request City Manager Storm_toad-
dress a memo to the City Attorney requesting the course.of
action under Section 13 of the Sign Ordinance.Noa_353_in
regard to the violations by the Montgomery Place Beauty
Salon operated by Mrs. Sandra Sundrolo
Motion was seconded by Member McLaren and passed 5-0.
Member McLaren called the committee"s attention to.the..run-
down and neglected condition o.f the landscaping.and.the.
area surrounding the 7-Eleven Store on Bubb Road and also:.
mentioned the obscene writing on their store signs
There was considerable discussion and it was brought up that
on another occasion the Southland Corporation had been con-
tacted about the situation regarding this 7-Eleven Store.
New Business
Member Youmans moved to postpone discussion of the third
draft for Ordinance No. 220 to the next regular meetingso
that the -new members of this committee, Mr. Adams and_Mro
Buellesb`ach, will have an' -opportunity to consider the ordi-
nance drafts
Member McLaren moved, Member Youmans seconded and it was
passed unanimously that the meeting be adjourned.
The meeting adjourned at 11:45 P.M.
