Application No.: Applicant: Location: Laurie Dean, 22159 Rae Lane Vivek Datar, 22205 Rae Lane 6-V-97 Laurie and Larry Dean 22159 Rae Lane Variance to the second story setback requirements to allow a front dormer window. The meeting was convened at 5:30 p.m. by Robert Cowan. He introduced the staff present and also one member from the public. Ciddy Wordell presented the staff report as submitted describing the project. Ms. Wordell explained that there exists a deficiency in the front setback area, but this setback was in compliance prior to the change in the R-1 zoning ordinance. The findings show that the granting of a variance would not be detrimental or injurious to other homeowners and that denial of this variance would deprive the Deans of the preservation and enjoyment of their property rights. Mr. Cowan asked if their were any comments from the public. Mr. Datar replied he understood what the application was about and had no comments. Mr. Cowan approved the variance based on findings presented by staff. He commented that the exceptional circumstances findings is the weakest of the three findings, but believes the remaining two findings are strong.
