With the arrival of Mayor Boe! at 7:55 P.H. the adjourned regular meeting
of the City Council v.. c:a11ed to order by hi..
Those present were: Councilmen Fitzgerald, FroUch, Stokes and Mayor
JIoel. Councilman Irwin vas absent. City staff meabers present for a
part or all of the meeting vere: City Manager Quinlan, Planning and
Development Director Sisk, Senior Planner Laurin, Citizens Goals Committee
Secretary Reid, and City Clerk Ryder.
Mayor Noel explained that tbe joint meeting between these two bc.'<iies was
for the purpose of alloving tbe Citizens Goals Steering Co=mitte~ to dis-
cuss in generalities the tentatively agreed upon goals as finally approved
1>y eacb of the various sœcomm1ttees. There vas to be no formal presenta-
tion of these goals and, correspondingly, no approval or denial of them.
Questions would be for clarification purposes only.
In addition to Chairman Anzelmo meabers of the Steering Committee who !!lade
presentations to the City Council were Hr. George Bonacich (Physical
Community Development), Mr. Paul Weiss (Business Development), Hr. William
Guengedch (Government Methods and Implementation Strategy), Mr. George
Mangano (Public Finance), Hrs. Judith Cooper and Mrs. Betty McCloskey
(Housing), and Hr. Fred Roettger (COIDIIIUI1ity Services and Transportation).
At tbe conclusion of the presentations and tbe discussions relating thereto,
Mayor Noel suggested that the Citizens Goals Committee might visb to delay
the formal presentation of the report until tbe first City Council meeting
in October to permit a final review and retyping to accommodate certain
changes tbe Committee had indicated tbey wanted to malte.
Mayor Noel expressed bis gratitude as vell as tbat of the other members of
the City Council for the great effort put into this project by the indi-
vidual committee members of each of tbe committees. He said that tbe City
vould try to formally recognize such work but that this vould be his last
opportunity to express recognition in person to each of the committee chair-
aen in a session such .. this.
