IUJIUll.S OF TIlE OcrOBER 18, 1971 CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Jk. Gilbert brought up the fact that tbey have provided a trailer
.. ca.per parking area for 25 which is not included 1:1 the 2.7
JÍÌøltiAg ratio. CoundluD Stokes felt that even though this is a
.1--'1 deve1op1118nt, the traner OTdinance should control this.
Be said it wiU be clearly YÚ1ble frea tbe Blaney Aveuue on-r.-p.
Be ..s.Ied that everything is done for the people living in the
pnject aDd nothing for the people passing by,
CoaDc:ilman Irwin agreed 1dth the COIIIIIIenU of the other CCNUCi1llen.
Be said he would like to take a good look at tbe lighting plan.
Be vould like to see at least 3 parking spaces per unit. The
location of trailers, caøpers, etc., should be moved dovn along
the freeway or even out in the second section until that phase is
built. Councilman Frolich suggeated the developer consider some
kiDd of high, sloping roof over them to cut the viev,of them from
the overpass.
Mr. Pat O'Connell, representative of Ditz-~rane, said a community
like this is designed to provide the amenities. They ~ant safe
valltways, with no feeling of spookiness for tne women and child~en
1iving in the clusters. r~eir design of the lighting acco~plishes
this. Also, the homeowners _~ll have tJ pay for any repairs; this
is why the light standards are so high, to minimize vandalism.
Re suggested a row of bushes ~ that area where the Council sug-
gested a roof. Another sclu=io~ ~ould be to eliminate the caoper
parking area. He said they have designed the recreatio~ area for
:~ese resiée~ts to relieve t~e City of this responsibility.
~. O'Connell said he would =e willing to plant the slope on
Blaney.
Moved by Councilman Stokes, ~econded by Councilman Irwin, to
approve application HC-5l,2ì3 as submitted, withholding approval
of trailer parking area uatil acceptable terms have been made with
the applicant before the la~scaping approval. Ditz-Crane should
give attentioa to the appeara~ce from the outside of the project.
