Regarding the complaint letter about the parade, Councilman Meyers said there were quite a few complaints from merchants, also, chiefly due to the length of time it took. Mr. Jack Copland, CU?8rtiDD resident, said they vere one hour and fifteen oinutes late. chiefly because of the older judge who had a probl~ coordinating aod recording his observations. The difficulty with changing the parade route is that you need class rooms and rest ro~s for the visiting bands for changing into unifo~, etc. Alternatives will be investigated. The City ~~nager said ~he Sunnyvale City Council agrees ~b. present name is too long, but does not feel De Anza Blvd. is ~propriate. That name would be more ap- propriate for S~elling/Bollenbeck &ince ~hat s~ree~ is adjacen~ to the De Anza school sice. Mr. Dressler would like the name to be generic wi~h our City. at least within our City l~ts. Councilman 1r.~n said it shfJuld haY one continuous name to ~tDioiz~ confusion. H~ said the owner now can 3pply tc the City of Sunnyvale for annexation and can even ask for higher de~sity if he chooses. This is not to say that it would be approved, ~~vever. Counc1lma~ J~~~son was concerned about the services for this isolated spot, if it s~~uld remain in Cupertino's jurisdiction. It ·..as brought out that about 20 of the Sunnyvale residents have corresponded ~ith the' City of Sunnyvale regarding the possibili~y of IS homes bein; allowed, with the remaining two lots to be used for recreational purposes.
