If the City does notp1ck up this property, in future years we will have to either fragment our government build1D&s or sell the present City Hall and IIOve sOllle- where else. It is possible that we may need this property at the comer of Torre and Pacifica for governmental expansion such as a police depar~t or to lease it to a government agency. This is a unique piece of property. Councilman Frolich felt that the City has everything to gain by picking up this property at this time. Councilmæl Sparks explained that what.swayed him toward this acquisition was that the amount of this purchase, if applied to park development would only amount to minimal park develoDment. Councilman Frolich added that purchase of this property rather th park development would not increase our maintenance costs.
