Ordinance. The City Manager stated that it is not based upon land
density, bu~ rather upon facilities provided. Counc. Nellis said it has
come to her attention that these open spaces do not, in all cases,
provide tr.e recreational needs of some of the people and they are ~cming
to the City parks to fill these need~.

open spaces.

...There was a field trip to tbe Stevens Canyon area
for tbe purpose of becoming familiar vith the
topography and to listen to the views of the
resident and nonresident land o~~ers, who have
suggested a slope density approach to development.
Another meeting is scheduled for March ¡~tb in
the Council Chamber, at which time it is anticipated
the final map will bo completed and sent en to the
PPC. Additional policies are needed. It is boped
this will go to the County by July.
Hr. Meyers hoped 1lts. Nallis liOuld continue working
on this Comaittae.
~. Heyers requested the Mayor appoint an alternate
for him for both the PPC and the ALUC.
Said she will try to ratain her seat on the Hillside

Counc. Nel¡ '!! ask"'! ,,'bat happened to the matter of supporting the
Bill in Congress o~ banning of nonreturnable cans. Co~nc. Jackson
said it got bottled up. The County is working on an ordinance of
this type. The staff was asked to check with Inter-City Council
on the status of this legislation and include it on the April lst
agenda.
Counc. Jackson asked that his ~'streakin¡; ordinance" be deleted
from the agenda, citing too many problems connected with it.
Counc. Jackson stated the City should be getting a cocmittee
together for Juan Bautista Day festivities.
Counc. Jackson asked for advance copies for the City Council of
the General Plan and policies presently being studied by the
Planning Commission.
Counc. Meyers acknowledged the letter he rcceived regarding the
inability to get hc:e loans on property lying in the flood plain.
He would like the Planning Commission to study the "restrictive
zone", as it might apply to the City of Cupertino.
