Reso 1453R ASAC-51,842.1 RESOIDTION NO. 1453 OF THE ARCEIITECIURAL AND SITE APPROVAL C HMI TEE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTITO APPROVING A PLANNED DEVELOPMENT SIGN PROGRAM FOR A M=I-TENANT RETAIL CENTER APPLICANT: West Valley Shopping Center (Homestead Square) PROPERTY OWNER: Joseph Franco APPLICANT'S ADDRESS: 2277 Alum Rock Avenue San Jose, California 95116 PROJECT LOCATION: Southeast corner of Homestead Road and Franco Ct. FINDINGS: The Architectural and Site Approval Camuittee finds as follows with regard to this application: 1) The proposed sign program is consistent with the provisions of Sections 17.24.270 and 17.24.290 of the Municipal Code. 2) The proposed ground sign is consistent with the provisions of Sections 17.24.070, 17.24.090 and 17.24.100 of the Municipal Code. CONDITIONS: • 1-8) Standard Architectural and Site Approval Committee conditions to the extent that they do not conflict with the special conditions listed herein. In the event of conflict, the specific conditions listed herein shall prevail. 9) The approval is based upon Md-Libits dated 2/18/89 of Application ASAC-51,842.1 except as may be amended by conditions enumerated herein. 10) A maximum of three tenant names may be included on the ground sign, inclusive of both sides. 11) The address for the center shall be included on the ground sign. 12) Provisions of the approved sign program are as follows: a) Sign type: Internally illuminated (channel letters for major tenants, canister signs for buildings B and C tenants); script or san-serif typography. b) Mounting location: Wall signs for major tenants, signs hung from canopy structure for buildings B and C tenants. c) Size limitations: 18" letter height: length not to exceed 70% of the building frontage which the business occupies. ,In addition, the length of signs shall not exceed 13 ft. on the north elevation or 10 ft. on the east elevation. d) Color: Ivory background with no more than two copy colors for lettering on a single sign face. Resolution No. 1453 ASAC 51,842.1 Page -2- 13) The height of the sign shall not exceed 10 feet. 14) A color palette shall be submitted for approval prior to tenant occupancy of buildings B and C. 15) The approved colors for the freestanding sign are as follows: a) Rust background with white lettering for the top panel which identifies the center. b) Ivory background with rust lettering for tenant panels. 16) The background color for the T. J. Maxi building mounted sign shall be ivory, with letter height as indicated on the approved sign exhibit (page 6 of 7, dated February 18, 1989).
