Reso 169 PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 169 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO COM- MENDING BURREL LEONARD FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE TO THIS COMMISSION AND 411 THIS COMMUNITY WHEREAS, BURREL LEONARD has submitted his resignation from the Cup- ertino Planning Commission, and WHEREAS, he has served the City of Cupertino in this capacity since incorporation, and WHEREAS, seldom is a city so fortunate as to have the benefit of the wisdom, foresight and dedication to principle with which Mr. Leonard has pursued the elusive destiny of this City, and WHEREAS, few men have so freely given of their own time in the in- terests of enhancing the fruits of self-government, and WHEREAS, MR. LEONARD has insisted that no homage is necessary or expected, a protestation this Commission chooses to ignore NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That this Commission, on behalf of the present and future residents of this City, hereby expresses appreciation to Burrel Leonard for the manifold benefits to the community arising from his years of service, and 2. That this Commission, on behalf of its own membership, ex- pressly thanks Burrell Leon ardfor the knowledge and experience he shared, so that unlearned neophyte Commissioners achieved whatever degree of competence they now bring to bear on City problems, and 3. That this Commission sympathizes with Mr.. Leonard for any embarrassment engendered by this token exposition of esteem from those of us in the best position to assess the impact of his contributions to his community, and 4 That this Commission wishes Burrel Leonard the best of success in his new venture, 1AF: IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That a copy of this resolution be made and forwarded to Mr. Leonard. PASSED AND ADOPTED, this 13th day of November, 1963 at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Cupertino.
