CALL MEETING TO ORDER

Chair Mohanty called the meeting to order at 7:13 pm
ROLL CALL
Commissioners Present: Prabir Mohanty, Naidu Bollineni,Arnold de Leon
Commissioners Absent: Rajaram Soundararajan
Staff Present Bill Mitchell, Staff Liaison
Speakers: Mukesh Garg, resident
1. Receive Google Presentation on Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud Services.
Chair Mohanty pulled Agenda Item No. 1 from the Agenda.
The Commission discussed calling a Special Meeting on January 9 to receive the Google
Presentation.
2. Discuss and Finalize the 2020 TICC Commission Work plan.
Chair Mohanty discussed adding Traffic Management to the 2020 Commission
workplan. He further cited having Traffic Management services available near school
zones and Neighborhoods where the City has jurisdiction. Staff Liaison Mitchell stated
working with the Traffic division to set up Pilots and expanding based on the success.
He affirmed the City will have to budget for the Plan in the future. During the
discussion, Chair Mohanty added that Google is willing to invest on the deployment of
Internet of Things (IoT). He further added that the Tech Giant has also been working
with other Cities to deploy Traffic Management Intelligence.
The next Item the Commission discussed adding to the Workplan is Video Analytics
around Traffic count. The Commission discussed gathering statistics, vehicle and
pedestrian counts,which will lead to traffic improvement. It was also noted that
managing security would be crucial,having a private platform and secure by design.
The third.item the Commission discussed adding was Weather and Air Quality. The
commission discussed having displays depicting the Air Quality on the City application

(app) and other popular apps. It was mentioned that each neighborhood would have a
display,making easily available to the public.
The fourth item discussed was Water Conservation and moisture sensors in the City
Gardens.
The fifth item discussed was a Cloud Based platform support the data above.
Staff Liaison Mitchell suggested adding sensors to City receptacles (waste cans) that
will notify maintenance staff to replace the bags. This would eliminate routine
checkups. He further added testing in selected Parks and deploying after success.
Staff Liaison requested to continue with the Wireless and Fiber Optic Master Plan.

Mr.Mitchell also suggested to continue the work with 5G Education. Commissioner
Bollineni stated he has been in contact with potential speakers. He disclosed there will
be fees associated with the Guest Speakers.
Following the discussion, the Commission directed the items detailed to be part of the
2020 TICC Commission Workplan. Commissioner de Leon suggested to group Water
Conservation with City receptacle sensors.
Commissioner Bollineni made a motion to accept the new TICC Workplan.
Commissioner de Leon seconded the motion.
The motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner de Leon moved for adjournment at 8:31 pm. Commissioner Bollineni
seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
