AND SITE APPROVAL COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO FOR
JANUARY 8, 1990. MEETING HELD IN CONFERENCE I X I A, CITY
HALL, AT 10300 TORRE AVENUE, CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA.
The meeting was called to order at 7:46 PM by Vice-Chairman Gong.

PLANNING COMMISSION IISSION UPDATE
APPLICATION ASAC 51,725.2 - GREG BUNKER PROJECT (PHOTO DRIVE UP) .
The Committee was provided status, as requested.
FORMAL REVIEW
ITEM 1) APPLICATION ASAC 51,809.2 - SRI SERVICES (1325 SARATOGA-SUNNYVALE
ROAD, SOUTH OF RAINBOW) . This item is on appeal. The Board
heard this item on December 11, 1989. The applicant was
requesting an amendment to a sign program for a service
station/mini-market. The applicant is requesting further
clarification on the location of the building-mounted signs and
would like the Committee to reconsider placement of signs on the
existing light poles with snap lock capabilities which are on the
north side of the parcel.
Sam Rao, owner was present.
ISSUES:
- Reinstatement of light standard snap lock sign capabilities.
- Placement and location of building-mounted signs.
DECISION:
- On a 3-0 vote, ASAC 51,809.2 was approved per the findings
and conditions contained within the Model Resolution as
established at the December 11, 1989 hearing. Resolution
No. 1510.

ITEM 2) APPLICATION ASAC 51,883.1 - BERG AND BERG DEVELOPMENT (NOIiFAST
OORNER OF BUBB AND MCCLELL NIROADS) . Applicant requesting review
and approval for a site and architecture on a proposed 51,696
square foot, two-story building. This would entail demolishing
the existing structure and developing a new office building.
John Salera, Berg and Berg Developers and Paul Reed, Landscape
Architect from Reed Associates were present.
ISSUES:
- Reflective exterior building glass.
- Colonnade at main entrance, (west elevation) distracts from
the attractiveness and fCcal. point of entry.
DECISION:
- On a 3-0 vote, ASAC 51,8183.1 was approved per the findings
and conditions contained '`within Resolution No. 1512.
ITEM 3) APPLICATION ASAC 51,885.1 - REED ASSOCIATES (ORCHARD VALLEY
SHOPPING CENTER, STEVENS CREEK BOULEVARD AND PORTAL) . Requesting
approval and review of a ive landscaping plan, and
amendment of an approved tenart�program for a retail center.
Paul Reed, Landscape Architect, Reed Associates was present. •
ISSUES:
- Number of signs proposed.'
- The number of Italian Stone Pine trees proposed for removal.
- The use of the proposed palm trees and their
appropriateness.
DECISION:
- On a 3-0 vote, ASAC 5111,8 5.1 was approved per the findings
and conditions within Resolution No. 1513.
ITEM 4) APPLICATION ASAC 51,884.1 - KINST ARCHETECIURAL (10130 PASADENA,
NORTH OF LCNIITA AVENUE) . I`Requesting review and approval of
architecture and color for a proposed 1,103 square foot, second
story addition to an existing du7lex.
William A. Kinst, Kinst Architectural and Paul McLellan were
present.

DECISION:
- On a 3-0 vote, ASAC 51,884.1 was approved per the findings
and conditions contained within Resolution No. 1514.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
ITEM 5) Minutes of the Regular Meetings of November 27, 1989 and December
11, 1989.
- On a 3-0 vote, the minutes were approved with the spelling
correction on December 11, 1989 -.Vice-Chain Gong's last
name as submitted.
ADJOURNMENT
At 9:25 PM to the next Regular Meeting to be held January 22, 1990, at
7:30 PM, Conference Roan A of City Hall.
