Subject: Controversial Items on April and May City Council Agendas
Dear City Council:
It might be good to make available the list of items that the City Council is supposed to be reviewing during the regular
City Council meetings in April and possibly May so that any items that are too controversial or require public input can be
postponed or dealt with differently so that the public can comfortably comment on them.
A large project decision by Palo Alto City Council was delayed this month because of the pandemic and the fact that the
public could not come to the meeting to comment on the project.
I do think it is the best course of action to delay any items of controversy since we are in uncertain times because of the
pandemic, and our normal course of action with city matters have been disrupted.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Griffin

Dear Mayor, Vice‐Mayor, Councilmembers and City Manager,
I have read tonight’s agenda, and discussed with the City Manager my concern that Emergency Funds were not being
discussed tonight. She assured me that the City Staff is working hard with its business and governmental partners to
provide the best possible package for your review next week.
I am reassured by her commitment, and would urge Mayor Scharf to reassure all people in his opening remarks tonight,
that Emergency Funds will be on the Agenda next week.
As we are well aware, not only because of the virtual meeting format this evening, COVID‐19 is having immediate
impacts on our neighbors and friends. Everyone involved in the race to protect our people need assistance. People
living paycheck to paycheck fear becoming homeless, and homeless people are afraid because many have nowhere to
shelter‐in‐place.
Please reassure our people that the City Council will be reviewing Emergency Funds on April 7.
Sincerely,
Connie Cunningham
