SUBJECT AND ISSUE
Receive the resignation from Technology, Information, and Communications Commissioner
Charlon McIntosh, and direct staff to initiate the process to fill the unscheduled vacancy.
BACKGROUND
Commissioner Charlon McIntosh has notified staff of her resignation effective October I, 2005.
This creates an unscheduled vacancy with a term ending January 2008. There are six
applications on file, up to a year old, from people who had expressed an interest in serving on the
Technology, Information, and Communications Commission, and they will receive specific
notice of the new vacancy.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council include this vacancy in the annual recruitment process,
Announcements are made in the November and December issues of the Cupertino Scene and
interviews will be held in mid-January.
