BACKGROUND This project is an annual maintenance project funded through the City's annual sidewalk, curb and gutter maintenance budget. The project consists of the removal and replacement of curbs, gutters and sidewalks by a City-hired contractor as needed throughout the year. Part of the project includes the installation of handicap ramps that are required due to street work programmed for overlays on various streets. There is permanent street patching in the amount of $33,250.00 that is a requirement necessary to complete this work and will be funded out of the Pavement Management CIP account. The following is a summary of bids received for the Maintenance of Curbs, Gutters and Sidewalks project: Bidder CB Construction Co. Engineer's Estimate JJR Construction, Inc. Sposeto Engineering Base Bid $ 423,175.00 $ 450,200.00 $ 474,000.00 $ 495,010.00 The low bidder is CB Construction for the amount of$ 423,175.00. FISCAL IMPACT This action would require expenditure from the approved sidewalk, curb and gutter maintenance budget account no. 270-9451-9300 in the amount of$ 389,925.00 and additional expenditures thereafter up to the amount of $ 60,000.00 if additional work is approved by the Director of Public Works.
