BACKGROUND David Greenstein has been serving on the Bicycle Pedestrian Commission. On January 9, 2006, he was appointed to the Parks and Recreation Commission, thereby creating an unscheduled vacancy on the prior commission. That term was scheduled to end in Jan. 2007. Mahesh Niha1ani has resigned from the Housing Commission (see attached letter), thereby creating an unscheduled vacancy on the Housing Commission. That term was also scheduled to end in Jan. 2007. The vacancies will be noticed in the Cupertino Scene, and copies of the notice will be sent to everyone who has an application already on file. Staff proposes that the City Council hold interviews prior to a regularly scheduled Council meeting. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the following deadlines for these vacancies. .
