SPECIAL MEETING
At 6:15 p.m., Mayor Darcy Paul called the Special City Council meeting to order. This was a
teleconference meeting with no physical location.
ROLL CALL
Present: Mayor Darcy Paul, Vice Mayor Liang Chao, and Councilmembers Kitty Moore, Hung
Wei, and Jon Robert Willey. Absent: None. All Councilmembers teleconferenced for the
meeting.
OPEN SESSION
ORDINANCES AND ACTION ITEMS
1. Subject: Receive 2021 Drought Condition Information and Update on the Cityʹs
Ongoing Water Conservation Measures for City Operations; Provide Input to Staff on
Potential Further Water Conservation Measures.
Recommended Action: Receive the Staff Presentation on the Countyʹs Drought
Conditions and Provide Any Input.
Written Communications for this item included a staff presentation.
Public Works Director Roger Lee introduced the item.
Public Works Assistant Director Jimmy Tan and Sustainability Manager Andre
Duurvoort gave a presentation.
Councilmembers asked questions and made comments.
Representatives from California Water Service, San Jose Water, and Santa Clara Valley
Water answered questions.

Mayor Paul opened the public comment period and, seeing no speakers, closed the
public comment period.
Council received the staff presentation on the Countyʹs drought conditions.
COUNCIL AND STAFF COMMENTS AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Mayor Paul held a moment of silence in memory of City of Cupertino employee George Robert
Patterson.

At 7:02 p.m. Mayor Darcy Paul reconvened the Special City Council Meeting. This was a

In open session, Mayor Paul reported that no reportable action was taken.

Mayor Paul conducted the open session report regarding the closed session.
ADJOURNMENT
At 8:54 p.m., Mayor Paul adjourned the meeting.
