RESOLUTION NO. 06-046
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO
REQUESTING REFERRAL OF ANY FUTURE REDEVELOPMENT PLANS
STEMMING FROM GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT FILE NO. GP05-01-01
FOR PROPERTIES LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF
HIGHWAY 85 AND DE ANZA BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino received a referral from the City of San Jose
for a General Plan Amendment Request designated by the file number GPOS-Ol-OI; and
WHEREAS, the General Plan Amendment Request would change the land use
designation of 4 acres of land abutting the City of Cupertino from commercial to medium
high density residential (l2-2S dwellings per acre), which would facilitate the
redevelopment of the one-story commercial buildings to two-story or greater height
apartment or residential condominium buildings; and
WHEREAS, because of the location of the land on the periphery of San Jose, any
future redevelopment ofthese properties would principally affect Cupertino residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Cupertino respectfully requests that the City of San Jose refer any future development
plans stemming from this General Plan Amendment Request (file no. GPOS-OI-OI) to the
City of Cupertino Community Development Department for review and comment.
