As Planning Commission Chair, former mayor, and senior citizen, I
have the knowledge and experience to keep Cupertino vibrant and
thriving. I advocate for transparency, fiscal responsibility, and
residents' interests. I'm committed to Cupertino. My children attended
Cupertino schools and my son teaches in FUHSD.
Since 2018 Cupertino's resident -focused Council has made enormous
progress. We lead in sustainability. A lobbyist registration ordinance
was enacted. We minimized Covid's impact achieving California's lowest
infection rate. Processes were established to prevent fraud and abuse.
As mayor, I worked with Santa Clara County to find supportive housing
for encampment residents on Wolfe Road. I moved Westport forward with
ownership and senior housing, and retail. The City compelled Vallco's
owner to mitigate toxic contamination. I advocated for the library
expansion, all-inclusive playground, and Jollyman off -leash dog area.
I worked with Santa Clara County to address Lehigh pollution. I opposed
water rate increases. On the Planning Commission I advocate for
ownership housing to promote the American Dream for families.
On the Legislative Review Committee I promoted State legislation that
creates livable towns, protects CEQA, and increases sustainability; I
opposed legislation that hurts schools, cities, and the environment.
