NOO, 'lHEREFORE, BE rr RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of CUpertino does ordain as follows: 1. '!hat Resolution NQ. 8187 is hereby resciroed. 2. '!he funds for the Youth Sports Reserve F\.I1'ñ shall be derived solely fran future Park Dedication Fees ~ these fees are reimbursed to the General F\.I1'ñ. 3. Fran said furrl, æoounts will, fran time to time, be awropriated by the City Council for the purpose of renovation ani expansion of the Youth Sports facilities on various CUpertino union SdIcol District school sites as further delineated by a master plan prepared jointly by the City of CUpertino am the SdIcol District am in confonnance with the City's Five Year Capital I1iqJrovements plan. '!he requirements of said furrl are estimated to be approximately $5 million. !o\Irxis could also be used for upgrad.ing fields owned by the F'rem:>nt Union High SdIcol District in the event an agreement is read1ed between the City of CUpertino am. the SdIcol District at a future date. 4. '!hat the youth Sports Reserve F\.I1'ñ be established i:nmadiately with an initial sum of $1.1 million fran the General F\.I1'ñ representin;J Park Dedication !o\Irxis previously reimbursed to the General F\.I1'ñ. NOVEMBER E:LECI'ION. 1990 last fall 68.34% of the voters in OJpertim elected to tax themselves to raise funds for the City's acquisition of Blackberry Farm recreation facility arxi the F'reIro1.t Older School site. OPEN SPACE ELEMENI' OF '!HE GEm:RAL PlAN prescribes that: * Park system shall provide three a=es of parklarxi for each 1,000 residents. * Parks should be a:minllm.nn of three a=es. * Each household should be within 1/2 mile of wa1.kin3" distance to a park. * 'Ihe City should naintain an adequate inventory of sports fields. * Retain the open space character of the stevens Creek flood plain.
