I, Evonne Zamora, Acting Registrar of Voters of the County of Santa Clara,
State of Califomia, hereby declare that a Gubernatorial Primary Election was held in
the County of Santa Clara, in the City of Cupertino, on March 5, 2002 for the purpose
of submitting Measure "M" to the voters of said District; and to wit:
M Utility Tax Initiative. Residents currently pay a 2.4% tax on utility use,
specifically electric, gas and telephone. ShalI the City of Cupertino extend the existing utility
tax which wilI otherwise tenninate in 2015 for an additional 15 years to 2030, for general
city services and programs?
That the official canvass of the retums of said election was conducted by the
office of the Registrar of Voters in accordance with the appropriate provisions of the
Elections Code of the State of Califomia; and
That the Statement of Votes Cast, hereto attached, shows the whole number of
votes cast for and against Measure "M" in the City of Cupertino, and in each of the
respective precincts; and that the total shown for said Measure is true and correct.
