Loops reference numbering system is shown on the attached drawing. We are requesting a cost estimate to
perfonn the following. In addition, the City will perfonn the inspection at no cost to the Contractor.
However, we do require a twenty-four (24) hour notice before move in and for inspection. And lastly, this
community follows California Storm Water Best Management Practice.
Description of Work:
Bid Item 1 - Install fourteen (14) Type 'A' (6'X6' Type 2 wire) and one (1) Type 'C' (2XI0 Type 2 wire)
traffic loops at location 2D, 2E, 2F, SI, S2, S3, series lane No.2 - 2B, and series lane No.3 - 2C. Total of
14 Type 'A' traffic loops, with Type 2 loop wire and if needed Type B lead-in.
Traffic Detector Loop Installation and Repair
a. Protect nearby stonn drain inlets prior to cutting or flushing slot for traffic detector loops. Block or
benn around nearby stonn drain inlets using sand bags or an equivalent barrier or use absorbent materials
such as pads, pillows and socks to contain slurry.
b. Clean up residues by sweeping up as much material as possible and dispose of material properly.
Bid Item 2 - The Contractor shall furnish, erect and maintain sufficient warning and directional signs,
barricades, warning lights, flashing arrow board, and traffic control personnel to give adequate warning to
vehicular traffic at all times that construction is in progress. Average daily traffic, eastbound is
approximately 18,000 vehicles.
Attention is directed to Sections 7-1.08, "Public Convenience," 7-1.09, "Public Safety," and 12,
"Construction Area Traffic Control Devices," of the Standard Specifications and to these Special
Provisions. Nothing in these Special Provisions shall be construed as relieving the Contractor from the
responsibilities specified in Section 7-1.09.
No lane closures shall be pennitted on Stevens Creek Boulevard before 9:00 A.M. or after 3:30 P.M.,
Monday through Friday.
