Application No.: Z-2008-01 (EA-2001-08) Applicant: City of Cupertino Location: Southeast end of Cleo Avenue adjacent to Hgwy 85 Rezoning of a .27 acre parcel from Planned Multi-Family Residential (P/R3) to planned Residential (P/ Res) to accommodate four single family homes ^ Noise o No noise issues with the rezoning application. Application No.: U-2007-06, ASA-2007-10 (EA-2007-08) Applicant: Brian Replinger (Cupertino Village) Location: Homestead Road & Wolfe Road Use Permit and Architectural Site Approval to construct two one-story retail buildings totaling 24,455 square feet and a two level parking structure ^ Noise ^ Trees ^ Traffic o The applicant will be required to retain a licensed noise engineer to work with them to mitigation all of the noise concerns raised by the City's noise consultant and incorporates al of the recommended mitigation measures ie; sound wall, wall construction, mechanical equipment o The parking structure walls will be designed to reduce the internal traffic noise o There are 215 trees on site. 55 are scheduled for removal o Trees will be replanted on a one-to-one ratio using 24" and 36" box trees o Currently there are few trees in the parking lot, the new landscaping plans will have trees planted in the parking lot at 1 tree for each 5 stalls o The project is required to perform minor enhancements to two intersections (Homestead/ Wolfe and Pruneridge/ Wolfe) during construction to improve operational deficiencies o The driveway off of Homestead Road will be modified for safer traffic flow (right in and right out only) o The development is projected to generate 55 am peak trips and 154 pm peak trips, but this will not affect existing intersections or pedestrian flow o Additional on site vehicular circulation/parking demand study will be discussed at the next meeting after the consultants have had a chance to finalize their analysis of the shopping center and surrounding residential neighborhood ^ Additional Discussion o LEED Silver Certifiable o Sanitary Sewers need upgrading and the waste handling practices need updated to prevent future incidences of grease and oil discharge into the sewer systems o A condition of approval will include trash pickup and pest control requirements o Parking structure design and placement ACTION: Recommendation to continue the discussion to the February 20, 2008 meeting MOTION: SECOND: NOES: VOTE: OLD BUSINESS None Res~pe/c~tfully esubmitted, Beth Ebben Administrative Clerk G/planning/erc/approvedminutes012308
