A SISTER CITY RELATIONSHIP
BETWEEN
CITY OF CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA, U.S.A.
AND
HSINCHU CITY, TAIWAN, R.O.C.
While a Friendship City relationship has existed since 1998, these two cities now
desire to elevate that association to a Sister City relationship .
For the purpose of enhancing a long-lasting relationship, the City of Cupertino,
California, United States of America, and Hsinchu City, Taiwan, Republic of China
hereby formally agree to become Sister Cities .
It is the will of both cities to enter into this agreement. Both cities will work to increase
mutual understanding , develop trust, and cooperate in pursuing freedom, peace, and
the welfare of the people in both cities .
Both cities agree to:
1. Encourage exchanges in culture , education, arts, and sports .
2 . Encourage exchanges in economy, industry, science, and technology.
3. Encourage exchanges in city planning, development, and management.
