Agreement on the Establishment of a Friendship City Designation Between
Changzhou, People's Republic of China and
Cupertino, California, United States of America
To further develop friendly cooperation and deepen mutual understanding and friendship between
different cultures; Changzhou, People's Republic of China and the City of Cupertino, California,
United States of America enter into this Agreement on m a tters concerning the establishment of
friendly cooperation between the two parties through amicable negotiation.
I. The parties agree to jointly promote friendly exchange between the people of Changzhou and
the City of Cupertino on the basis of equality and mutual benefit dependent upon ratification
of this Agreement by both.
II. The parties should exchange information with each other and strengthen the exchange and
cooperation in economics, culture, education, innovation and entrepreneurship, and other
areas.
III. The parties should establish a friendly relationship, based on exchange and cooperation, to
jointly promote cultural and educational exchanges with Changzhou and the Cupertino.
IV. The parties will follow the City of Cupertino's "Policies and Guidelines on Sister Cities,
Friendship Cities, and International Delegations."
V. This Agreement is made in duplicate in both Chinese and English, with both versions being
equally valid, and shall take effect from the date when it is signed by both parties.
VI. The term of this Agreement is for two years and will automatically terminate if not renewed .
